DFO ONLINE MULTIPLAYER — PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated:
This Privacy Policy explains how Bunnyfall ("Bunnyfall," "we," "us," or "the Service") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Bunnyfall website, multiplayer servers, software, and related community services.
Bunnyfall is an independent, unofficial community project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or approved by Bethesda Softworks, ZeniMax Media, Microsoft, or their affiliates.
1. INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT
When you use Bunnyfall, we may collect information necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
This may include:
- Account or player username
- Character names and character information
- Account identifiers
- Multiplayer gameplay and progression data
- Inventory and server-state information
- Chat messages and related moderation records
- Server activity and connection logs
- IP address
- Browser and device information
- Login and authentication information
- Error, crash, and diagnostic information
- Moderation actions, reports, warnings, or bans
- Support requests and communications with project staff
- Donation or supporter status where applicable
We do not intentionally collect information that is unnecessary for operation of the Service.
2. GAME FILES
Bunnyfall may require users to provide access to legitimately obtained game data from supported games, including The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
Where the software processes required game files locally on the user's device, those files are not uploaded to Bunnyfall servers unless the user is clearly informed otherwise.
Bunnyfall does not use local game-file access for the purpose of collecting unrelated personal files or information from a user's computer.
3. HOW INFORMATION IS USED
Information collected through Bunnyfall may be used to:
- Provide multiplayer functionality
- Maintain player accounts and characters
- Save multiplayer progression
- Operate persistent-world features
- Authenticate users
- Provide chat and community features
- Detect cheating, exploits, abuse, or unauthorized access
- Investigate rule violations
- Enforce server rules
- Maintain server security and stability
- Diagnose technical problems
- Improve Bunnyfall
- Respond to support requests
- Maintain supporter recognition where applicable

We do not sell users' personal information.
4. CHAT AND MULTIPLAYER COMMUNICATIONS
Messages sent through public or multiplayer chat should not be considered private communications.
Other players may be able to see messages sent through public channels.
Bunnyfall administrators or moderators may access chat records where reasonably necessary for moderation, security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, or enforcement of server rules.
Users should not share passwords, financial information, addresses, or other sensitive personal information through multiplayer chat.
To keep chat safe, Bunnyfall's servers mark each chat message they relay so that a report can show what was actually said. When you report a player, the reported messages and the messages around them, the reason you chose and any note you add are stored with the moderation case and shown to the game's moderators, in the game and in a private moderation channel on the project's Discord server. When several established players report the same player within an hour, that player may be muted for a short time automatically until a moderator reviews the case.
Messages sent in public chat channels (not party, guild or nearby chat) and reported messages may be reviewed by an automated content review service operated by a third-party AI provider, which checks them against the Code of Conduct. The review service receives the text of the messages as they were written, which can include any names typed in them; the players who wrote them are identified only by labels such as "P1" and "P2", never by their account names or identifiers. Its findings help moderators, and while automated actions are switched on it may apply a short, temporary mute, and only after a second review of that player's own messages; it never bans an account.
Each account's block list, its agreement to the Code of Conduct, and a record of moderation actions taken on it (mutes, bans, and their reasons) are stored with the account. A blocked player is not told they were blocked, and letters they send to the player who blocked them are not delivered.
5. DONATIONS AND PAYMENTS
Bunnyfall may accept voluntary financial support for hosting, development, infrastructure, maintenance, and other project expenses.
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers.
Bunnyfall should not directly receive or store full payment-card numbers when payments are processed entirely by an external payment provider.
The applicable payment provider may independently collect information according to its own privacy policy.
Bunnyfall may receive limited information associated with a transaction, such as:
- Supporter name or username
- Transaction identifier
- Donation amount
- Date of transaction
- Supporter status
- Email address, where provided by the payment service
This information may be retained where reasonably necessary for accounting, fraud prevention, supporter recognition, dispute handling, or legal compliance.
6. SUPPORTER TITLES AND RECOGNITION
Users who financially support the project may choose or be eligible to receive community recognition, such as a supporter or contributor title.
If recognition is displayed publicly, other users may be able to determine that the account has supported the project.
Bunnyfall should not publicly display the amount a user contributed unless the user has agreed to that disclosure.
7. IP ADDRESSES AND SERVER LOGS
Like most online multiplayer services, Bunnyfall may process IP addresses and connection information when users connect to its servers.
This information may be used for:
- Establishing multiplayer connections
- Server security
- Abuse prevention
- Detecting unauthorized activity
- Rate limiting
- Investigating attacks or exploits
- Enforcing bans
- Diagnosing connection problems
Server logs should be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes or as required by law.
8. COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE
The Bunnyfall website or web-based client may use cookies, browser storage, or similar technologies where necessary to provide features such as authentication, preferences, sessions, security, and game functionality.
Where legally required, users will be provided appropriate information or choices regarding non-essential cookies or similar tracking technologies.
9. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Bunnyfall may rely on third-party services for functions such as:
- Hosting
- Authentication
- Donations or payment processing
- Community communication
- Automated review of chat messages for moderation
- Analytics
- Error reporting
- Content delivery
Those services may process information according to their own privacy policies.
Bunnyfall does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party services.
10. DATA SHARING
Bunnyfall does not sell personal information.
Information may be shared where reasonably necessary with service providers that assist in operating the Service.
Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law or valid legal process
- Protect users or the Service
- Investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or attacks
- Enforce applicable Terms of Service
- Protect legal rights
- Respond to legitimate intellectual-property complaints
We do not provide Bethesda, ZeniMax, Microsoft, or other third parties with user information merely because a user plays Bunnyfall.
This does not prevent disclosure where legally required.
11. DATA SECURITY
Bunnyfall will use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the Service to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
However, no internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and should not reuse passwords from other services.
12. DATA RETENTION
Personal information should be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as required by applicable law.
Different types of information may have different retention periods.
Certain information may need to be retained after an account is closed for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, legal compliance, or enforcement purposes.
Public chat messages sent for automated review are kept for at most one day unless they become part of a moderation case. The messages kept with a moderation case, the notes reporters added and the automated review's explanation are deleted ninety days after the case is resolved, including from the moderation channel; a case still open after ninety days is closed. A block list is kept until its owner removes an entry. The record of moderation actions and the reasons chosen in reports are kept for enforcement for as long as the account exists.
13. USER REQUESTS
Depending on where a user lives, applicable privacy law may provide rights concerning personal information, potentially including rights to request access, correction, deletion, or other actions.
Requests may be submitted to:
Killbunny (server admin)
Bunnyfall may need to verify the identity of the requester before fulfilling a request.
Some information may be retained where permitted or required by law.
14. CHILDREN
Bunnyfall is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
Users who do not meet the minimum age required to consent to the processing of their information in their jurisdiction should use the Service only where legally permitted and with any required parental or guardian authorization.
If Bunnyfall learns that personal information from a child has been collected contrary to applicable law, reasonable steps will be taken to address the situation.
15. INTERNATIONAL USERS
Bunnyfall may be accessible from multiple countries.
Information may therefore be processed or stored in a country different from the user's country of residence.
Where applicable law requires specific protections for international transfers of personal information, Bunnyfall will take reasonable steps to comply with those requirements.
16. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Bunnyfall changes its services, infrastructure, or data practices or as legal requirements change.
The "Last Updated" date at the beginning of this Policy will identify the most recent revision.
Material changes may also be communicated through the website, multiplayer service, or community channels where appropriate.
